Club Closure 4th November - 2nd December

Bishop Sutton Tennis Club - CLOSED : 4th Nov - 2nd Dec 2020

Following the recent government announcement of a further national lockdown, we can confirm that the tennis club will unfortunately be completely closed from Thursday 4th November 2020 up to and including, Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

The courts at both Bishop Sutton and at Chew Valley School will be closed to the club members for the whole period. Existing bookings are being cancelled and you will not be able to make further bookings for the lockdown period on Clubspark. The junior programme, adult club sessions and all individual coaching are also cancelled and Mike has written to members of his programme to inform them of that and make arrangements regarding payments.

The committee appreciates that this is very disappointing for all of us especially as we all know the benefits of tennis, and have seen first-hand how we have successfully managed to allow play to continue in a Covid secure way. We will keep a very close eye on developments and be ready to re-open the club as soon as we possibly can. So can we respectfully ask you to adhere to our closure and not visit the courts or the clubhouse on either site during the lockdown period.

Thank-you so much for your support for the club since we re-opened. We have had fantastic court usage (across both sites), a successful adult and junior club tournament, league matches, an external tournament, a full junior programme running and undertaken significant upgrades to facilities all within the LTA guidelines for tennis venues. We will be ready to re-open as soon as we are allowed. In the meantime, stay safe and keep fit and ready to play as soon as we are able.

Best Wishes

Your BSTC committee
